This annual event gives community members a chance to learn about the Otay Valley Regional Park and organizations that work to protect and enhance the park. This year we had live animal demos from the Bureau of Land Management, environmental education activities by the Girl Scouts and I Love A Clean San Diego, and even a renewable energy display from San Diego Gas and Electric.

As the Otay Valley Regional Park is a “multijurisdictional park”, or managed by three different agencies, we had an ensemble elected officials come speak about the importance of open space and the park. This included Chula Vista Mayor Mary Salas, Chula Vista Councilmember Steve Miesen, City of San Diego Councilmember David Alvarez , County Supervisor Greg Cox and Imperial Beach Mayor Sere Dedina. It was an honor to have such accomplished decision makers out for our event!! See you there next year!!
