I have a business and can donate my services. Are my donations tax deductible?

Gifts to WILDCOAST/COSTASALVAJE are tax-deductible under section 170(c) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, in accordance with IRS regulations. The non-profit will provide written acknowledgment for all charitable donations.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

I want to donate in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone. How can I do that?

Donors may wish to donate in memory of a loved one who passed away. Please go to our general donation page, and enter the memorial or tribute information in the message field. On memorial donations, if there is a memorial fund set up, we notify the family of the person who passed away.

I want to specify what my donation goes toward. What are my options for doing so?

Donors may designate their gifts to a specific region, or campaign. Otherwise, all donations will go towards general support of WILDCOAST/COSTASALVAJE.

Who started WILDCOAST, and when?

WILDCOAST was founded in 2000 in order to protect some of the most ecologically important coastal wildlands, islands and marine areas that remain in California and Baja California. They are home to a variety of endangered marine animals, such as the Eastern Pacific green and loggerhead sea turtles and the last undeveloped gray whale calving site on earth.

Since its inception, WILDCOAST has successfully protected more than one million acres of coastal wildlands and halted the development plans of illegal mega-resorts throughout the Baja California Peninsula and the Sea of Cortez. Through its innovative conservation campaigns, WILDCOAST has brought critical attention to pressing environmental issues in the Californias.

Who is the Executive Director?

The founder and Executive Director of WILDCOAST/COSTASALVAJE is Ph.D. Serge Dedina.

Where are WILDCOAST’s field offices?

WILDCOAST/COSTASALVAJE is a binational organization. Our main offices are located in Imperial Beach, CA and in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. We also have field offices in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico and Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico.

How many staff members does WILDCOAST/COSTASALVAJE have?

WILDCOAST/COSTASALVAJE has a growing team of staff, consultants and interns. There are 11 WILDCOAST staff members at the Imperial Beach, CA office, and 11 staff members at COSTASALVAJE in Ensenada, B.C office.
