WILDCOAST’s U.S. Oceans Program strengthens protection and compliance in Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) by working with enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and partners to support data-driven patrols and coordinated compliance efforts. We also build a culture of stewardship through Tidepool Ambassadors and public outreach events, while using M2 radar tracking systems to document and track illegal activity and support the prosecution of poachers.
WILDCOAST’s Corals Program protects and restores coral reef ecosystems in the Mexican Pacific and Caribbean by working within marine protected areas alongside government agencies, researchers, and local community partners. We monitor reef health using standardized protocols, promote coral-safe tourism (including wildlife and dive guides), explore restoration opportunities, and run education and communications campaigns that build long-term stewardship for these underwater ecosystems.
WILDCOAST’s Marine Debris Program works to prevent plastic and trash from entering the ocean by combining on-the-ground cleanups with long-term, upstream solutions. We partner with coastal communities and local governments to deploy trash retention systems that capture debris in waterways before it reaches the sea and support community recycling centers that reduce waste at the source, protecting marine wildlife and coastal habitats.
